I’m Renee, and I help self-label artists build sustainable careers where the art and the business both get to live.

What’s a self-label artist? Someone who chose to keep their masters and build on their own terms. If you’re handling your own releases, royalties, distribution, and strategy, you’re already operating as your own label.

Major labels used to be the romanticized path. That era is ending. You’re not unsigned, you’re signed to yourself. That’s the ultimate power move.

And that choice requires infrastructure.

I started Sono Hikari because I know what it’s like to lose creative momentum under the weight of everything you’re expected to manage alone. I’ve seen this industry from a lot of angles as a musician, recording engineer, producer, manager, and A&R working with labels, and I bring those conversations here, the ones that get lost in boardrooms and industry noise.
